3 years down

I have this feeling of constantly being overwhelmed with an unconquerable to-do list. But somehow I still manage to have a weekend full of amazing experiences with such lovely images to show for it. I want so badly to be able to tell people all of the incredible things that are going on and the hours and days slip by and all I seem able to do is post these mundane posts. However, I am still compelled to keep sharing, with the idea that at some point I will be back on the bandwagon of updating regularly here and possibly having something life-changing to share.

My big news? Well this past weekend of June 20th was the 3 year anniversary of my shop Paper Boat. Pretty big landmark- small business owner for 3 years, who would of thunk? Thanks for the support Milwaukee & beyond.

Sometimes you just find an unexpected gem

Cat dentures is what you find on page two of a google image search when looking up "cat dentist" for your friend Tim who has some bad teeth stuff going on and you want to cheer him up. They apparently exist and as Kate pointed out, how does the cat keep them in?

Pecha Kucha Night - June 17, 2008

Home from my Atlanta/NY trip and went straight to the Hi Hat Garage for my Pecha Kucha presentation. Don't know what Pecha Kucha is, well you should check out their site, but basically it's a bunch of presenters who get to pick out 20 slides and then have 20 seconds to talk about each one. It's very fast paced and fun. I went last and was pretty nervous by the time my talk on "Craftivism & Community" rolled around.

Weekend/ Week updates

I was lucky enough to see two amazing bands this weekend- A Silver Mt. Zion at Turner Ballroom and The Spits and Franks Power Plant. I recommend checking out both if you can get a chance.

It was also the reception for the show I curated at Woodland Pattern called "Devotion To Thread" super great turnout and I'll have photos up on the Handmade Nation flickr account later this week.

If you are in Atlanta or NY I am on my way!

June 7th is the 7th Indie Craft Experience

June 10th Screening of 20 minute clip of Handmade Nation at Light Industry

Other news is I got a week long residency at the Kohler Art Museum for this great DIY programing- more on that later.....

As always, you can always read the Handmade Nation blog for more frequent updates or visit my silly myspace page.
